Vic,
I’m having a hard time finding a strap that satisfies my needs. The one you use in this video interests me. Can you tell me where you got it, description (brand etc.)? Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Chuck
Google Sherrin’s Threads. This one is her thinnest in basic black.
Chuck…check out Sarah Maisel’s straps, strapsforchords in the UK, or ukestraps on Facebook. I’m pretty happy with 1” straps…strapsforchords makes 1”, 1.5”, and 2” straps.
Very nicely done review of a great instrument.
Buyers / Players should keep in mind that although the nut IS 1.5″, the string spacing is NOT expanded. The string spacing is the same as a 1 3/8″ (35mm) nut. There is no extra space between the strings for your fingers, and all of the extra space is used-up on the edges of the finger board. This is easily fixed by making and installing a new nut. At least you have the option and the flexibility.
Also, just for grins, it is pronounced Kahn-ee-lay-ah.
My qualifications for making this comment (the interweb being what it is): Mechanical engineer (30 yrs.), a good set of calipers, own recent same model uke, near-by shop that carries this uke where I measured several, conversation with luthier’s (Joe’s) sons on this very topic.
I hope this is helpful.
Glad you liked the review. Thanks for clarifying the rest. I appreciate it.
